Partner, Assurance Services
Leader, Not-For-Profit & Government Practice
“What I love about working with not-for-profits is that I feel like I make a difference for clients who make a difference for our communities. That really matters to me.”
PROFILE
Mary became interested in accounting when she was in college and learned it’s the language of business. As a foreign-language enthusiast, she was fascinated by this. When Mary was looking for a job after college, she really liked the people she met at Moss Adams as well as our focus on the middle market. She started in our Bellingham, Washington, office, then moved increasingly southward: first to our Everett office, then to our Eugene office, and most recently to our San Francisco office.
STORY
Mary has benefitted from great mentors and training. In return she has worked hard to provide meaningful guidance and mentoring to newer people at the firm. “These are amazing people who go the extra mile and enjoy their career so much,” she says. “It’s so fun to come to work each day.” Mary also finds a balanced life to be very rewarding. “A work-life balance is endorsed at every level in the firm,” she adds. “There’s encouragement for making your personal life a priority.” Mary’s personal life is filled with activities with her husband and three children as well as reading, hiking, and playing the piano. She also mentors women and has been on the advisory board of Forum_W, the firm’s effort focused on attracting, developing, retaining, and advancing talented women.
