Moss Adams and CHR’s Consulting Division Unite to Strengthen Communications and Media Consulting Practice

Consulting Firm to Bring Additional Industry Expertise and a Suite of Network Provisioning Services to Telecom Clients

SEATTLE, December 16, 2014 — Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, today announced it has agreed to acquire the regulatory compliance and financial consulting portion of Houston-based telecommunications company CHR Solutions Inc. The combination further strengthens the resources and capabilities of Moss Adams in the ever-changing telecommunications consulting sector and enhances the firm’s expertise in helping clients navigate the industry’s complex regulatory environment. The combination, which was approved by the leaders of both firms, is effective January 1, 2015.

“This combination provides us with the opportunity to expand our services and grow the operational footprint of the Moss Adams telecommunications consulting practice nationally,” said Clay Sturgis, leader of the Moss Adams Communications & Media Practice. “Many of CHR’s consulting services are complementary to our existing financial and regulatory consulting practice, and we’re excited to bring on the added depth in industry expertise. We’ll also be able to provide additional value to our clients through new services such as network provisioning and operational consulting.”

The CHR consulting practice specializes in regulatory and financial consulting for telecommunications businesses operating in rural communities as well as competitive providers throughout the country. Consulting services include cost separations, revenue assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery, state and federal tariffs, merger and acquisition support, loan and grant applications assistance, and market analysis and feasibility studies.

“In addition to expanding our service offering, CHR’s regulatory and financial consulting practice has expertise navigating federal regulatory issues and brings with it valuable resources in Washington, DC,” said Chad Duval, partner with the Moss Adams Communications & Media Practice. “Operating in a major decision-making hub for the communications industry provides better access to the Federal Communications Commission, helping us to move and adapt quickly with regulatory changes, which in turn allows us to better serve our clients.”

In January all full-time members of CHR’s regulatory and financial consulting practice will officially begin working as part of Moss Adams from hubs in Austin and Dallas. The addition of these employees grows the Moss Adams Communications & Media Practice to more than 75 professionals providing services to clients in 45 states across the United States.

Moving forward, CHR will continue to focus on its core business of providing telecommunications billings and operations (B/OSS) software and services, engineering, business process outsourcing, and managed IT and telecommunications services to communications service providers around the world.

“CHR and Moss Adams are compatible firms with many shared business ideals and goals, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner in this combination,” said Jo Shotwell, senior vice president of CHR’s regulatory and financial consulting practice, who will also be joining Moss Adams. “This is a great opportunity, and we’re excited to be part of one of the leading communications and media consulting firms in the nation.”
