Moss Adams Announces Leadership Transition for Its Specialty Tax Services

Marke Greene Will Succeed Keith Palmer as Partner in Charge

SEATTLE, July 17, 2014 – Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, today announced a leadership change to its specialty tax services group. Partner Marke Greene, a 14-year veteran of tax consulting, has taken over as national partner in charge, replacing Keith Palmer, who has been with the firm since 1979 and will retire at the end of 2014.

Since joining Moss Adams, Greene has concentrated in the area of state and local tax, focusing on planning and structuring transactions for public and closely held clients. In his new role, Greene will lead the firm’s specialty tax services—which provide critical solutions to clients in a broad mix of industries, including manufacturing, health care, agribusiness, construction, real estate, and technology—and oversee the firm’s state and local tax practice.

“Keith is an inspiring leader whom I admire and respect, and I'm grateful for the wisdom and guidance he’s provided over the years,” Greene said. “This is an exciting time for our specialty tax services group, which recently announced new tools and service offerings, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for the firm and our clients.”

The specialty tax services group at Moss Adams includes a variety of practices, ranging from strategic corporate and partnership planning, transfer pricing, research and development tax credits, cost segregation, state and local tax, and federal tax dispute resolution to relevant new technology solutions for improving efficiency and operating effectiveness. Recently announced software solutions include the Moss Adams Tax Credit Exchange, an online marketplace for buying and selling tax credits, as well as technology enhancements to its industry-leading, Web-based MaxCredits tool, which simplifies the process of submitting claims for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit.

“Understanding specialized tax matters is at the core of our tax offerings at Moss Adams, and I have no doubt that the sophistication of these services will continue to grow under Marke’s leadership,” Palmer said. “His commitment to this firm and the community at large is commendable, so I’m delighted to hand over the reins to such a hardworking and strategically minded professional.”

Greene’s leadership is visible in the accounting profession and beyond. He is an advisory board member of Forum W, an initiative within Moss Adams that seeks to attract women to the accounting industry and promote their development, retention, and advancement. Outside of work, Greene is actively involved with his alma mater, Western Washington University, where he serves on the advisory boards for the College of Business and Economics and the Department of Accounting as well as the Alumni Association.
