Sustainability - The New Business Focus.

The need to manage forests in an environmentally sound way is an increasingly important issue for forest products businesses. Maintaining healthy forests will not only provide the wood and paper products that are essential to today’s business, but will also provide for the needs of future generations. To ensure our forests are protected, the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) developed the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) program in 1994. The SFI® is based on the premise that environmentally responsible forest and business practices can be integrated to the benefit of landowners, shareholders, customers, and the public at large.
