College is a time full of fun, hard work and planning for the future. For northwestern juniors in the accounting and business fields, Moss Adams puts on an annual Navigate Your Career conference to help them discover what they want to do with their not-so-distant careers and develop leadership qualities.
Held in vibrant downtown Seattle this year, the conference offers three fun and informative days where students can meet and learn from the top leadership at Moss Adams. A large variety of activities help students explore the qualities of strong leadership, teamwork and success.
Sarah Weber, a student at Washington State University, attended in 2007. Weber says she had a wonderful time and enjoyed the opportunity to do some valuable networking with both students and accounting professionals. After her attendance, Weber interviewed with the Everett office and obtained a winter internship with Moss Adams.
Weber mentioned that by attending Navigate Your Career she learned about the special level of dedication that Moss Adams enjoys. “I learned that Moss Adams is a great firm to work for. Every employee seems to love the firm and will recommend working for Moss Adams to anyone. The firm as a whole cares about their employees more than any other firm I have been exposed to and they truly believe in their core values,” Weber elaborated.
Weber said Navigate Your Career provided her with a lot of information she could use on a personal and professional level. “I was able to take what I learned about leadership, as well as Moss Adams in general, and apply it to my everyday life. Moss Adams really focused on personal and professional development, which helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses,” she stated.
Would Weber recommend this experience to other students? Absolutely. “I met a ton of people from several different Moss Adams offices as well as made connections with students from all around the Northwest. Three days meeting Moss Adams professionals is a great experience and one that could land you a career.”
