On May 20, 2009, at the Association of General Contractors (AGC) annual Build Washington Awards, Elaine Ervin, the Moss Adams Washington region Construction and Real Estate leader, presented the AGC-Moss Adams Service to the Community Award to BNBuilders’ Jim Charpentier. More than 300 people attended the event at Kane Hall on the University of Washington’s Seattle campus.
This award, created in 2009, recognizes AGC members who go above and beyond to support the communities in which they live and work. The AGC approached Moss Adams with the idea of naming the award after the firm based on the two organizations’ shared commitment to improving the quality of life in their communities.
Other nominees for this award included Absher Construction, General Construction, Granite Northwest, and Turner Construction.
While presenting the award, Ms. Ervin stated, “As an accounting and consulting firm specializing in providing services to the construction industry, Moss Adams LLP is proud to sponsor the AGC Build Washington Awards. By partnering with the AGC for this award, we recognize how construction companies have been able to create cultures that value community involvement. We believe we will continue to see more of this in the future.”
KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross hosted the event. Twenty-two others received awards that evening, including Lease Crutcher Lewis (Grand Award for Construction); Aecon Buildings and Sicklesteel Cranes, Inc. (Grand Awards for Safety); Jeff Robison of John Korsmo Construction (Superintendent of the Year) and J. Daniel Phelan of Natt McDougall Company (Project Manager of the Year).
