The San Fernando Valley Business Journal featured Charles Nefkens, consultant in the Health Care Consulting Group, as a columnist in its June 9-22, 2007 issue.
“DRA and Medicaid—Are You Prepared?" provides an overview of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA) and the implications this legislation has for Medicaid programs and health care organizations. Nefkens discusses the myriad of Medicaid fraud detection and enforcement programs at the federal and state levels. In addition to detailing the various regulatory bodies and mandated compliance programs, he also identifies internal control areas that health care organizations should know about to prevent violations.
