Partner Elected to Board of BayBio Institute

The BayBio Institute elected Derek Dowsett, a partner in Moss Adams’ San Francisco office, to its Board of Directors on July 20, 2007.
As a 15-year veteran of public accounting in the life sciences and technology industries, Dowsett brings a wealth of knowledge and connections to the BayBio Institute, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization focusing on educational efforts for life sciences in Northern California.
Dowsett looks forward to supporting the Northern California regional bioscience community through the organization’s four major activities: entrepreneurship, best practices, workforce issues, and sciences education.
A group of universities, public officials, bioscience executives and educators founded BayBio and the BayBio Institute, which has operated continuously in Northern California since 1990.
Northern California is host to the largest group of life sciences companies in the United States—more than 900 companies with 90,000 employees. In the past 12 months, this industry has created 6,000 jobs.
Dowsett serves as the regional leader for the Technology and Life Sciences Group in Northern California for Moss Adams and is also an active member of Moss Adams' SEC practice, serving publicly-traded companies.
