Corrine Wilson Featured in CPAs of Color eBook by AICPA

Corinne WilsonThe AICPA Minority Initiative Committee (MIC) is honoring Corrine Wilson, Phoenix office senior manager, in the 40th anniversary edition of its CPAs of Color eBook. The eBook, published in September 2009, features “outstanding members whose lives may have touched others… to encourage young professionals to become both CPAs and leaders within the accounting world.” Corrine, an enrolled member of the Ft. McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone tribe, and one of few American Indian CPAs in the U.S., is one of 41 minority CPAs featured in the publication.

“I wanted to obtain my CPA,” Wilson states in her eBook profile, “so I could show and encourage other American Indians that our own people can assist in strengthening tribal sovereignty through viable financial practices…. I believe I have a responsibility to assist other Indian people into this profession, and further assist our tribes and their entities through my professional work and outreach efforts. This profession can take you many places and enrich your life if you have the passion for it.”

Wilson’s CPA degree has taken her far. She is a member of the Not-For-Profit/Government Group and leads the tribal practice in the Phoenix office.

Corrine’s profile is on page 46 of the CPAs of Color eBook.
