SEATTLE, Wash. (June 14, 2010)—Moss Adams LLP today announced that it is a cosponsor of the Data Privacy, Governance, and Business Ethics: People – Process – Technology Summit, which will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Seattle University’s Pigott Auditorium. Moss Adams is sponsoring this event along with IKON Office Solutions, Inc, a Ricoh company; eDocument Sciences, LLC; and Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.

Summit attendees will learn the importance of data privacy and governance topics, including:

  • The importance of a proactive data governance plan
  • How to mitigate people, process and technology risks
  • The immediate actions to take during a data breach
  • How to create an effective defense against both internal and external threats

  • Responding to Data Thefts

“A big challenge to organizations today is to ensure that they are protecting the privacy of their data, while at the same time being able to share it with others as appropriate, explains Tom Krippaehne, Managing Partner, Northwest Consulting Group, Moss Adams LLP. “Since the issue has only been partially addressed on a regulatory basis, it is the responsibility of business leaders to determine how to acquire, store, and utilize their data in a manner that protects individual privacy in such areas as financial and medical. This Summit will provide business leaders a forum to understand relevant data governance issues and learn about potential solutions.”

The Summit will also feature a question and answer session with an industry expert panel who will address how organizations view data governance, their ethical and fiscal obligations, and the role of people, process and technology in safeguarding mission-critical data for themselves and their customers.

Other contributors to the event include:

  • Wells Fargo
  • Fasoo.com
  • Seattle University
  • Seaton Daly
  • Onehub
  • Litigation Media Group
