Moss Adams LLP Awards SAS 70 Certification
Bellevue, Wash. (August 24, 2007)—Moss Adams LLP performed a SAS 70 service auditor examination and awarded Netupdate, Inc. SAS 70 Type II certification. During the evaluation, Moss Adams completed an in-depth assessment of Netupdate’s internal objectives and internal controls—or safeguards—over financial reporting, and found the objectives and controls were adequate and effective.
Netupdate chose to rely on Moss Adams for its expertise and commitment to the technology industry. "A Type II audit requires that the auditors test and validate the controls as defined," said Diane Holmstrom, CEO of Netupdate. "Netupdate's decision to upgrade from a Type I to a Type II audit was in response to our many customers and prospects following the Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines to financial institutions regarding the choice of a technology vendor."
It is significant for organizations to have the widely recognized SAS 70 Type II certification because it follows Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines and standards. Upon receiving certification, a Service Auditor’s Report is available for the organization’s customers—nearly eliminating their audit requests.
