Verizon Awarded SAS 70 Certification From Moss Adams
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (October 3, 2007)—Moss Adams LLP performed a SAS 70 Type II service auditor examination as a third-party auditor and awarded certification to Verizon Business’ Remote Application Management (RAM) Operations Centers. The SAS 70 Type II certification is valuable to organizations because it signifies compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines and standards. Moss Adams found the internal objectives and internal controls—or safeguards—to be adequate and effective.
Receiving certification nearly eliminates an organization’s independent audit requests, because a Service Auditor’s Report is available for the organization’s customers. Verizon Business’ RAM Operations Centers’ assessment included:
- In-depth reviews and tests of the control environment and consequent internal controls in the areas of organizational structure, governance and administration
- Physical and environment controls
- Logical access controls
- System availability and performance
