2007 FSI Broker-Dealer Financial Performance & Compensation Study

The results of the 2007 FSI Broker-Dealer Financial Performance & Compensation Study are in.  Respondents submitted data from February-May, 2007 and the report was released in August, 2007.

This study addresses three primary areas of broker-dealer operations:

  • Strategy: We look across the different affiliation models; including payouts and services to broker-dealer reps.  We also comment on industry trends, and offer insight into its future.
  • Financial Performance: This report produces critical management benchmarks to evaluate profitability across broker-dealer categories, such as revenue size and broker-dealer type. We also examine how profitability relates to strategy, operations, cash flow, balance sheet strength and operating performance for a broker-dealer.
  • Compensation: We gather extensive compensation data on broker-dealer positions and produce benchmarks on executive and staff compensation, including base salary and bonus detail, in relation to size and type of firm as well as other key measures.
