After completing this training, participants will be able to discuss recent tax and regulatory changes affecting private foundations; discuss various types of investment strategies and how social responsibility is playing into a foundation's investment strategies and policies, as well as the tax considerations of each investment type; identify the mechanics of the minimum distribution requirement (MDR) and the types of expenditures that count toward the MDR; discuss self-dealing, fringe benefits, and excess business holdings, as well as internal controls and policies and procedures to avoid negative press or IRS exam issues, and identify the latest cybersecurity issues and threats affecting private foundations.
