Up until 2007 Bryan was the partner-in-charge of one of the largest audit practices in Washington State, with overall responsibilities for quality control, operations, marketing, and strategic planning for all industry-focused practices. He was also the lead partner on engagements for a large base of financial services companies and entrepreneurial organizations with up to $5 billion in assets. In 2010 Bryan joined the firm’s San Francisco office (after a stint in a private financial services company) to focus solely on building services to investment managers and broker-dealers.
Since that time, he has taken an active role providing technical concurring and engagement review work, providing accounting research on technical matters for the firm, and developing training for the firm’s staff. Recent activities include consulting on modification of customer derivative and lending programs to comply with new GAAP yet still achieve the desired financial reporting results. Bryan also recently designed new staff training courses covering the requirements of broker-dealer internal control auditing and reporting, and he designed a course on private investment fund operations, strategies, and financial reporting.
