In this panel, we’ll hear from industry leaders on how they have remained nimble in times of disruption. We’ll also look around the corner on the changing landscape of construction and design, discuss what the future may hold for building, and cover how people may use space.

Diane Kocer, Executive Director, AGC Education Foundation

As Executive Director of the Associated General Contractors of Washington Education Foundation, Diane manages multi-faceted outreach programs that promote and develop construction careers through education and training. She is responsible for a robust scholarships and grants program, and oversees a highly-regarded training program for construction professionals. With over thirty years of project management experience, she is dedicated to creating effective programs that link careers in the construction industry with the state’s school systems and organizations. Diane serves on numerous state-wide boards and committees that seek to advance the awareness of construction career pathways.

Matt Lessard, President, Wilcox Construction Inc.

As a graduate of Washington State University in construction management and real estate, Matt began his career as a field engineer for Hensel Phelps. In 1995 he joined Wilcox Construction as a superintendent and second generation Lessard in the family owned business. His first years of experience as a field engineer, superintendent, and project manager have given him the perspective and skills to form a deeper connection and trust with each employee and client as a leader. Matt believes in establishing strong relationships with employees, clients and industry subcontractors knowing these relationships are one of the keys to Wilcox’s longevity in the industry. Every staff member is valued like family and every client’s need are cared for—with a dose of fun along the way.

Casey Schuchart, President, Schuchart

Casey has the responsibility of leading the Strategic Development of Schuchart. He began working as a laborer for the company and assumed more challenging roles including Sr. Project Engineer, Project Manager and Account Executive for work performed at Microsoft. He was instrumental in the delivery of the Bullitt Center; a six story office building deemed the most energy efficient commercial building in the world. Casey possesses the expertise in managing large teams executing complex project requirements. Casey earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego and developed his business sensibility further while completing his MBA at Seattle University.

Jonathan Bahe, AIA, Senior Associate, Architect, NBBJ

As a market leader in NBBJ’s corporate practice, Jonathan provides process design leadership and client management to clients around the country. His passion for collaborative inquiry, robust problem solving and constant curiosity provides NBBJ and our clients with a powerful voice for design and process. He has led a diverse mix of projects for clients such as Google, Seattle Children’s Research Institute, and Moss Adams, helping guide each of them through a transformative stage of their real estate evolution. Jonathan is a strong advocate for the integration of design and business, constantly exploring how space impacts critical issues of human capital and performance.

Maggie Robinson, VP Strategic Accounts, Shaw Industries

As the VP of Strategic Accounts for Shaw Industries Maggie has the great pleasure of working with major corporate end use clients up and down the West Coast. This gives her a diverse perspective and understanding of the market’s trends and drivers in workplace design. She started her career in textile design and product development for the commercial market. She is driven by sustainably and the material health of the products we utilize in the spaces we live and work in.
