Mary has practiced public accounting since 1988, serving public and private higher education institutions and their related organizations, including foundations, bookstores, television networks, and athletic groups. Mary also serves a broad spectrum of not-for-profit entities and state and local governments. As the audit partner for many not-for-profit and governmental organizations, she has significant experience conducting audits in accordance with government auditing standards and the Single Audit Act.
Mary served for two years on the executive committee of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center as well as four years as one of eight elected members of the Moss Adams Executive Committee. She led the firm’s Not-for-Profit & Government Group for 12 years. Mary has also volunteered at and served on the boards of several United Way agencies, a university business school advisory committee, and the supporting foundation of an elementary school. She currently serves on the board and as audit committee chair for Worldreader.
Mary received the AICPA Certificate of Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing and has presented on various governmental and not-for-profit topics for the National Association of College and University Business Officers, Western Association of College and University Business Officers, WCCI, and other industry organizations. She has written articles on not-for-profit subjects as well as on sustainability reporting and corporate social responsibility. Mary was a recipient of CalCPA’s 2017 Women to Watch Award in the Experienced Leader category.
