SANTA ROSA, Sept. 25, 2024—Moss Adams, one of the largest accounting, consulting and wealth management firms in the nation, added Michelle Muth Ausburn and Porter Loud as new assurance partners. Michelle returns to Moss Adams with over two decades of experience serving food, wine, and agriculture companies. Porter returns to Moss Adams after working with the SEC as a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant.

Michelle returns to the firm as a seasoned advisor and auditor for clients in privately-owned and publicly held companies. She specializes in supporting clients in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) compliant financial accounting and reporting and providing guidance in complex and common accounting issues. During her career, she has guided clients through business combinations, consolidations, lease accounting, inventory valuation, revenue recognition, and evaluation of internal control. Michelle previously spent nine years at Moss Adams, holding multiple positions in her tenure, including two years as an assurance senior manager.

Porter returns to the firm after three years working for the SEC. As a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant, Porter gained valuable skills in leading the crypto assets transactions team, helping develop the SEC staff accounting positions for crypto transactions and activities, consulting with SEC registrants on technical accounting and reporting matters, and monitoring Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standard-setting activities. Porter spent the first 12 years of his career at Moss Adams, first as an audit staff member, and last served as a professional practice group senior manager.
