The Moss Adams Foundation has cultivated opportunity in our communities for decades. As a not-for-profit distinct from Moss Adams, the foundation provides gifts, grants, and donation matching to other 501(c)(3) organizations that create an impact and uplift communities across our footprint.
In 2023, the foundation board formalized three priority areas for funding—social equity, education, and the environment. What hasn’t changed is its mission to be a catalyst for equity and opportunity that has a lasting impact in the communities Moss Adams serves.
Partner and foundation board member Jennifer Price sees a strong connection between the foundation’s and firm’s missions. “We want to help all our community members prosper and reach their full potential,” Jennifer said. “That aligns with the firm’s values, too.”
The 2023 Moss Adams Foundation Annual Report, now available, tells the story of progress toward this mission. Notable highlights include:
Jennifer says working with firm leadership to implement paid volunteer time off, or personal GiveBack time, demonstrates the foundation’s progress toward its goals of creating a lasting impact at the firm and beyond.
“We’ve been working for a long time to get those hours,” Jennifer said. “It means our people can get out there, give back, and show a commitment to our communities. Launching that in 2023 was significant for us.”
Looking ahead, the foundation will explore new ways to engage the firm’s team members, including a focus on ensuring everyone has equal opportunity to influence change and maximize their impact. The shift in strategy is already reflected in the annual Earth Day campaign, which has transitioned from a donation-based program to a firmwide vote to determine where $100,000 is granted across three not-for-profit organizations.
Jennifer’s work with not-for-profit clients inspired her to invest her personal time into her community. Eventually, after joining the board of an organization in Portland, she also joined the foundation board.
“I saw the value of helping that not-for-profit, so I was excited to do the same for the Moss Adams Foundation,” Jennifer said. “It was something near and dear to my heart. I was passionate about the work.”
As a leader within the foundation board’s environment fund subcommittee, Jennifer believes every Moss Adams team member can explore existing initiatives with the foundation for opportunities to connect with their communities.
“I tell our people to think about what matters to them because chances are it aligns with the foundation’s work,” Jennifer said. “We’ve created a space that allows our people to engage in ways that are meaningful to them. Everyone has different interests, values, and beliefs—and the foundation embraces that.”
