Erica has been in public accounting since 1991, providing assurance and advisory services to a variety of clients, specializing in governmental, not-for-profit, and health care entities. In her role in the firm’s national office, she helps develop and monitor the assurance practice, providing technical consultations on complex audit and accounting matters such as the application of GASB and FASB accounting principles, audit and attestation techniques and methodology, tax-exempt financings, and federal program compliance. Erica develops and issues guidance to firm personnel in response to changing needs and professional standards and participates in several quality-control functions of the firm. She also designs and prepares continuing education programs on a variety of subjects for all levels of assurance professionals and is a frequent facilitator and presenter at internal and external events. Erica has also acted as a peer reviewer of firms enrolled in the AICPA Peer Review Program.
Erica is a recognized leader in the firm for matters related to Government Auditing Standards, Single Audits, and other assurance services. She leads the firm’s Single Audit Technical Review team, a specialized group of professionals focused on single audit and compliance reporting matters. She is also a member of the technical committee of the firm’s Government, Not-for-Profit and Regulated Entities practice.
Erica is a member of the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC) Executive Committee and in 2015 was appointed as chair. She continues to serve on several of the GAQC Executive Committee task forces, including the GAQC Task Force on Sampling Issues in a Single Audit Environment. In her GAQC role, Erica considers the impact of regulatory developments and technical accounting and auditing issues on all parties affected by governmental audits.
