Accelerate Cross-Border Growth

Cross-border business between APAC/China and the U.S. is full of real complexity — different tax systems, reporting expectations, business cultures, and stakeholders pulling in different directions. For founders, investors, or high-net-worth individuals, navigating this complexity without losing sight of their goals depends on the right people clearly understanding the parameters involved.

Our APAC/China Practice brings together bilingual and multicultural professionals across Baker Tilly’s tax, audit, and advisory teams — people who understand both the technical requirements and the relationship dynamics that shape cross-border decision-making. We work closely with headquarters and U.S. teams, keeping both sides informed, culturally aligned, and moving in the same direction.

Move forward with clarity, alignment, and confidence across APAC/China and the U.S. — whether expanding into new markets or managing cross-border wealth — with support from Baker Tilly professionals who know both worlds.

“The hardest part of cross-border work isn’t the rules. It’s making sure the right people on both sides understand them.”

Growth with Clarity

You’re operating across borders, managing competing priorities, and looking for a partner who understands both where you’re coming from and where you want to go.

We support a range of businesses and individuals pursuing their business and financial goals, including:

  • U.S. subsidiaries of APAC and China-headquartered companies navigating expansion, reporting, and regulatory requirements
  • Asian American-owned and operated businesses building and scaling within the U.S. market
  • Founders, investors, and high-net-worth individuals managing cross-border financial and tax considerations

Overcome Cross-Border Financial Challenges

Position your cross-border growth for success by tapping into Baker Tilly’s wide range of internationally-focused offerings.

  • U.S. market entry and expansion. Entity structuring, operating model, and planning before and after entry.
  • Tax planning and compliance. U.S. and international tax support, including transfer pricing, state and local tax planning, and cross-border structures.
  • Audit and financial reporting. Assurance that meets U.S. standards and holds up across jurisdictions.
  • M&A, transactions and capital events. Advisory support when the stakes are highest — from initial preparation and planning, IPO readiness, due diligence, to close.
  • Restructuring and transformation. When the business needs to change direction, quickly and carefully.
  • Risk, controls and regulatory readiness. Prepare for the expectations that come with operating in the U.S. market.
  • Cross-border wealth and family office. Personal tax, estate planning, and wealth preservation for individuals and families with assets in multiple countries.
  • Ongoing U.S. subsidiary advisory. Continued support as your U.S. operations grow and your needs become more complex.
