Biography

Derek has advised hundreds of business owners and companies in numerous industries on a variety of transaction and consulting projects in his career. He plays a pivotal role in the firm’s Valuation Services in the Central region.

Derek works with a variety of privately-held and public companies, individuals and families, private equity, and investment funds, on issues related to raising capital, M&A, stock issuance, complex financial instruments, tax and succession planning, and litigation and shareholder disputes, including expert witness testimony.

With over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and business valuation, Derek has spoken at numerous events nationally. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, Derek was an investment banker and a wine brand owner in Napa.
